Highlights of the Cordillera Blanca. The highest tropical mountain range in the world, the Cordillera Blanca is part of the spectacular Andes that form the spine of South America. A mecca for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts, the region boasts over 50 peaks that exceed 15,000 feet, 700 glaciers and 300 lakes.
Urus and Ishinca Mountain are located in the Cordillera Blanca and belong to the Chinchey Massif. They are located in the Ishinca Valley, chosen by many tourists for an easy acclimatization before climbing any other mountain which is higher than 6000m above sea level.
Pisco at 5752 meters above sea level, it is also a great acclimatization peak. Non-technical by nature, the normal route on Pisco Oeste climbs the southwest ridge, offering glorious sunrise views of the Huandoys and a 360 degree summit vista that is considered by many to be the best in the range.
